Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua’s sister-in-law, Margaret Gachagua declared that he will be running for the Nyeri Woman Rep position on a Jubilee ticket. Margaret, who is the widow of former Nyeri Governor the late Nderitu Gachagua, brother to Rigathi, recently defected from UDA, saying that there was no democracy in the party.
Brian Kihika, a brother to Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika, is also in Jubilee. He will be fighting for the Kihingo MCA seat while her sister is gunning for Nakuru gubernatorial seat.
Former Thika MP Alice Ng’ang’a sister will be contesting for the Nairobi Woman Rep position and is keen to win the Jubilee ticket. Alice on the other hand is keen to retain her seat using UDA.
At the same time, former Ruiru MP Esther Gathogo has ditched the UDA party and entered Jubilee. Gathogo, who is sister-in-law to Kandara MP Alice Wahome, was recently received to the wheelbarrow party by the second in command.
President Kenyatta has promised to offer financial support to Jubilee candidates in the Mt Kenya region as a reward for standing with him even when many left and started criticising the government.
