12 Patients Succumb to Covid-19 as 787 More Test Positive

Kenya on Friday, 23rd July, confirmed 787 new Covid-19 cases from samples tested in the last 24 hours. This brings the country’s Coronavirus caseload to 195,898.

Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said in a press statement that the cases were detected in the 6,892 samples tested, raising the total to 2,081,502. The country’s positivity rate is at 11.4 per cent.

From the cases 750 are Kenyans while 37 are foreigners with 425 being males and 362 females. The youngest is a one-year-old baby while the oldest is 97 years.

Kagwe said 424 patients have recovered from the disease, 293 from the Home-Based Isolation and Care Program while 131 were discharged from various health facilities countrywide. The total number of recoveries now stands at 184,885.

Some 12 more patients have succumbed to the disease, taking the national death toll to 3,838.
