A total of 15 nurses at the Pumwani Hospital have tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
The Keny National Union of Nurses (KNUN) chairman Boaz Onchari confirmed this development and expressed his concerns on the vulnerability of health workers to the virus.
Onchari said the positive nurses were all asymptomatic to the disease and that no coronavirus-related death had occurred in the hospital.
“I cannot tell the accumulative number of health workers at the hospital who have tested positive. But I can speak for nurses and I can confirm that 15 of them have tested positive,” the chairman was quoted by Nairobi News.
She died at the age of 38 and was described by colleagues as a young doctor who was full of potential.

On Saturday, July 11, the Ministry of Health and KMPDU said one more doctor had been admitted in ICU after testing positive for the disease and was battling for life.
