Three people have been shot dead and two injured while six others are missing after an early morning raid in Tandar area near lamaiywe in mochongoi ward.
The three Timoty kipsambu, Mariko kipkemoi and John Mariska were shot dead after they were ambushed during a morning patrol in the company of another twenty men.
The injured two who were rushed to Baringo county referral hospital with gunshot wounds.
And while Baringo County Commissioner Abdirisack Jaldesa said he wasn’t aware of the fatalities, area residents positively identified the deceased and urged the Government to take charge.
Paul kipyemat a resident in the area who accompanied the victims to the hospital said the bandits have taken over the area noting that recently 7 were killed by the bandits.
Nyonge Samuel said the attack took place at about 6 am when his brother in the company of the others were on patrol to ensure the area was safe for grazing when they were attacked by bandits who had taken cover in grazing fields ambushed.
Despite the Government deploying the National Police Reservists, bandits are still patrolling the area where lawlessness is the order of the day.
