28 people have tested positive for Covid-19, from a sample size of 2,315 tested in the last 24 hours.
The positivity rate is now at 1.2pc. Of the cases, 18 are Kenyans while 10 are foreigners; 20 males and 8 females.
The youngest is a 15-year old while the oldest is 66 years old. The latest infections have pushed the total confirmed positive cases to 323,846 from 3,610,647 cumulative tests conducted since March 13, 2020, when the first case was reported.
Nairobi county has reported the highest number of cases at 18, Kiambu 7, Siaya 2 and Trans Nzoia 1.
13 patients have recovered from the diseases. “This pushes the total recoveries to 318,055 of whom 265,027 are from the Home-Based Care and Isolation program, while 53,028 are from various health facilities countrywide. Fortunately, no patient has succumbed to the disease therefore the cumulative fatalities remain at 5,649” said the Ministry of Health.
A total of four patients are currently admitted to various health facilities countrywide, while 138 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.
Only one patient is on supplemental oxygen in the general ward.
Meanwhile, 17,927,457 vaccines have been so far been administered across the country. Of these, 16,305,642 are doses administered to the adult population (18 years and above).
Another 1,285,578 have been administered to those between 15 to 17 years, 31,957 are below 15 years but above 12 years while 304,280 are booster doses.
7,444 vaccines have been administered in the last 24 hours while the total number of people fully vaccinated in the last 24 hours is 1,542.
The proportion of adults fully vaccinated was 30.5pc. The Government is working towards vaccinating a targeted population of 27,246,033.
