Biko Thuon Miguna son to revolutionist Miguna MigunaToronto man has been charged with sexual assault following an investigation by York Regional Police into an incident June 11 in Vaughan.

Police in York Region have charged a 21-year-old man after a woman reported that she was sexually assaulted while shopping in Vaughan.

The woman told police that she was walking through a shopping centre on Bass Pro Mills Drive on Monday afternoon when she was approached by a man she did not know.

The man allegedly pushed the woman and attempted to kiss her.

A 31-year-old woman was walking in the mall when she was pushed by an unknown man, who then attempted to kiss her. She fought back and the suspect fled.

Mall security quickly located and apprehended a suspect, who was later arrested by police.

A suspect identified as Biko Thuon Miguna is scheduled to appear in court in Newmarket today.

Miguna also faces six counts of sexual assault in Toronto in relation to an incident June 8 at Jane subway station and several incidents June 9 on TTC vehicles.

Police are appealing for any other possible victims or witnesses to come forward.

A sexual assault includes any non-consensual contact of a sexual nature. York Regional Police encourages victims to report incidents of sexual assault, including historical offences.

There is no statute of limitations for sexual offences and offenders can be prosecuted well after the date of the offence. If someone is not ready to report, however is seeking support,
