Lionel Messi would be “very welcome” to join PSG according to Thomas Tuchel as doubts continue over the Argentine’s Barcelona future.

The forward has been outspoken on several issues at the Nou Camp as the Catalans endured one of their worst seasons for years.

Messi has seen two managers come and go in a season with Ronald Koeman recently being appointed.

Reports have circulated that the 33-year-old is ready to quit Barcelona after more than 16 years in Spain.

But whilst Tuchel would love to have Messi at the Parc des Princes he still feels as if he will finish his career at the Nou Camp.

“He is very welcome!” he told BT Sport. “Which coach says no to Messi?”

But he poured water on the fire swiftly after by adding: “I think Messi finishes his career in Barcelona. He is Mr Barcelona.”

The German was speaking after his team had narrowly lost the Champions League Final to Bayern Munich.

Neymar, who joined from the Catalan giants in 2017 with hopes of lifting Europe’s top prize, was unable to unlock the Bavarian’s defence.

Fellow star man Kylian Mbappe also fluffed his lines having missed a big chance in the opening 45.

Kingsley Coman, a player whose career begun at PSG, nodded home the winner to deliver Bayern’s six European Cup.

And Tuchel confessed that he felt the first goal was always going to be crucial in Lisbon.

“Big fight between two strong sides, very equal sides,” he said.

“Bit more possession for Bayern and a bit more confidence with the ball, agreed. Very dangerous moments for us. Two very good opportunities to score.

“I had the feeling before that maybe the first goal decides this match. It’s a pity we couldn’t do it because it would have been a big obstacle for them. A challenge for them to come again and turn it around.

“We needed this boost maybe from the 1-0 to show the quality. We showed unbelievable fight. It is absolutely possible to play the same game again and win 1-0.”
