Corrupt Faces At Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) Demanding kickbacks for Tenders

In a letter seen by Kenya insights addressed to DCI, a section of contractors and suppliers at the Kenya Ports Authority have petitioned the state and the National Assembly over what they termed as escalating corruption, nepotism and intimidation towards suppliers at the agency.

They outlined a number of departments of which civil engineering department was the most complained of.

They singled out an Engineer by the name Eng. Vincent Sidai and his assistant Mwaura whom they blamed for fleecing money from the corporation by intimidating suppliers and contractors.

There concern is the fact that the agency has continued to award tenders to perrenial suppliers who have mastered the art of manipulation.

They pointed out a case where a contractor was awarded a Ksh10million contract yet actual work pegged was Ksh7million.  They demanded DCI -EACC to carry out lifestyle audit demand on Sidai whom came overnight millionaire.

He has bought 2 houses in Nyali for over Ksh60million each and atleast 2 houses in Nairobi Karen costing over Ksh80million each and being a government employee who has held his current position for less than 4yrs.

Sidai vied for the Busia County Gubernatorial post in the last 2017 general elections but lost to Sospeter Ojamong.
