After Zone 3 Show, ’Hit-Squad’ shifts focus to Women’s World Championship

National boxing team ‘Hit Squad’ arrived back home last night after finishing second overall at the just concluded Africa Zone 3 boxing championship in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The Kenyan pugilists bagged 17 medals, 6 Gold, 5 Silver, and 6 Bronze.
Stylish Feather Weight Samuel Njau, Bantam Weight Shaffi Bakari, Light Heavy Elizabeth Andiego, Welter Weight Everline Akinyi, Flyweight David Karanja, and Light Welter Teresia Wanjiru bagged gold medals for Kenya.
Stacy Ayoma, Lorna Kusa, Elizabeth Akinyi, and Light Welter Victor Odhiambo walked away with Silver medals.
Defending Super Heavyweight champion Elly Ajowi and Boniface Mugunde were some of the Bronze medalists.
The team will now shift focus to the women’s World Championship slated for May in Turkey.
