The National Olympic Committee of Kenya and Athletics Kenya have announced new dates for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games national trials which will also double up as the World Athletics Championship trials.
The world championship is scheduled July 15th-24th 2022 in Oregon, USA while commonwealth games are expected to run from 28th July -8th August 2022 in Birmingham, UK.
The change has been occasioned by the need to give athletes opportunity and ample time to compete for slots during the trials.
Addressing a joint press briefing at NOCK offices, NOCK President, Paul Tergat announced that they had agreed with Athletics Kenya to delay the trials which were initially scheduled for May 21st and 22nd to June 24th and 25th.
