Alchemist Bar could resume operations after the whistleblower whose video occasioned its closure issued a public apology.
Emmanuel Murgor, who leaked an alleged racist video of the club, now says he is sorry.
In the video, the whites and Indian patrons were in one queue while blacks were in another.
This created a perception that the entertainment joint discriminates black people.
The clip triggered an uproar on social media platforms, resulting in the suspension of Alchemist’s licence by the Nairobi County Government.
The management of the establishment reached out to Murgor and painted to him the “real” picture.

Alchemist has been at pains to explain that it has no policy that discriminates black people.
“The clip I shared made an impression that there was racial bias at the Alchemist. That was never the case. After reviewing the full footage of the very evening and even from experience inside, I can attest that the Alchemist embraces diversity. I also reiterate that from how the club’s management has handled the incident, they are open to diversity and have in fact zero tolerance towards racism. I deeply apologise for any narrative the short clip may have caused. That was never my intention.
“The professionalism with which they have handled the issue has been phenomenal to say the least. There has been closure from both sides. Both sides appreciate diversity and inclusivity,” he said through lawyer Towett Titus.
Some Kenyans, however, believe money changed hands in the deal between Alchemist and Murgor.
Officers have been analyzing CCTV footages to establish whether the club has been promoting racism in the country.
