Aljazeera Journalist to Vie for MP Seat in 2022

Aljazeera newsman, Mohammed Adow, has announced that he will be in the 2022 General Elections race seeking a Parliamentary seat.

Speaking at a special ceremony in Wajir, which was attended by elders of the Makabul clan, Adow stated that he is eyeing Wajir South parliamentary seat, and the elders had endorsed him.

The elders pointed out that the visionary young man is an ideal candidate, and fit to unseat the current Member of Parliament (MP) Mohammed Mohamud of Jubilee Party.

Earlier on, before the special convention of the elders, Adow had met the youth of the area and affirmed that he was ready to work unitedly with local leaders as a move to front developments in the area.

“This continuous engagement with the people at the grassroots levels is prerequisite in development agenda setting. We deliberated emerging issues within the vast constituency and pursue them in a united front.”

“We also agreed vested interest should not supersede communal interests. I took stock of the prevailing leadership gaps and laid out my vision and manifesto towards a better Wajir South,” he stated.

According to Aljazeera, Adow, is a journalist with a wealth of experience, having worked for an international media house, British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), before joining them in 2006. He is currently based in Doha, Qatar, and works as a correspondent in three continents, Africa, the Middle East, and Europe.

“Adow is a Senior Correspondent with Aljazeera based in Doha. He has more than 20 years of experience,”

“He holds a master’s degree in Media, Communications and Public Relations from the University of Leicester. Before joining Aljazeera English in 2006, Mohammed worked with the BBC World Service for 10 years.”

Mohammed Adow now joins a stream of media personalities who have declared their interests in politics ahead of 2022. This includes radio presenter Felix Odiwor alias Jalas, Milele FM’s Alex Mwakideu, and Switch TV Sports host Tony Kwalanda.
