Man United youngster Angel Gomes has admitted he visited Nigerian prophet T.B. Joshua after his struggles with injuries.

Gomes made the admission after a video of him with the prophet surfaced on social media.

The two-minute long footage shows the United youngster clad in a white t-shirt testifying about his fitness struggles at T.B Joshua’s Synagogue Church of All Nations in Nigeria.

The Englishman divulged to the congregation that he had been battling a groin injury and an ankle ankle problem which took a toll on his development at the club.

The video from 2016 which has since gone viral saw a number of users ask Gomes to come out clear on the incident.

The teenager has now taken to his social media to reveal he made the Nigeria trip with the advice of his parents.

“I am from a Christian family at the time my mum was a fan of the pastor, and she really wanted me to go. I was going through some issues,” he said in a series of tweets.

Whereas he acknowledged ‘from the outside looking it is crazy,’ the United academy graduate pointed out he was only ‘practicing his faith.’

“From the outside looking in it looks crazy, but I was just practicing my faith,” he noted.

“I was young at the time and if my parents thought something was best for me I would do it,” he added.

The midfielder began his journey at the Red Devils at the tender age of six and he has since enjoyed significance rise to prominence.

He has made no less than 10 appearances for the senior team and he is understood to be keen to extend his stay at Old Trafford despite uncertainty surrounding his future.
