Amani National Congress Party leader Musalia
Modavadi has spoken out on the drama that was witnessed today when goons attacked
Ford Kenya offices in Nairobi.
Addressing the press shortly after the attack,
the ANC partty leader condemned the actions and wondered why ANC and Ford Kenya
parties have been victims of harassment and intimidation in recent times.
“Jiulize ni kwa nini wanalenga ANC, ni kwa
nini wanalenga Ford Kenya(Please ask yourselves why ANC and Ford Kenya parties
are the targets of these actions)” Said Mudavadi.
He urged Kenyans to be at the forefront in
defending the constitution and democracy, adding that what was witnessed on
Sunday when goons raided Ford Kenya offices in Nairobi is simply unacceptable.
“We must defend our constitution, and
democratic rights…. Hatuoni ODM ikivurugwa, hatuoni NARC ikivurugwa, hatuoni Wyper
ikivurugwa, hatuoni KANU ikivurugwa, hatuoni Jubilee ikivurugwa basi ni kwa nini
watu wanalenga hizi vyama viwili,”stated the ANC party leader.
Mudavadi alleged that the attacks and
intimidation witnessed in the past is as a result of his declaration to go for
the presidency in the 2022 general election.
“The reason is because we have said we are going for the presidency, and the time is ripe and the time is now.” Added the ANC party leader who is also a principal in the NASA coalition.
Yesterday, armed policemen surrounded the home
of Emuhaya MP Omboko Milemba where Mudavadi and Wetangula were schedule to hold
talks in quest for the elusive Luhya unity.
The meeting was eventually allowed to proceed
after the policemen withdrew.
The meeting was attended by a host of MPs including Bungoma
Woman Representative Catherine Wambilianga, Vihiga’s Beatrice Adagala, Kiminini
MP Chris Wamalwa, Ernest Kagesi and the host MP Omboko.
