Another CS Resigns to Run For Political Seat

Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of East African Community and Regional Development Adan Mohamed has resigned.

Mohamed who is seeking to be the next Mandera County Governor announced his resignation on Tuesday, 8th February.

In a statement, Mohamed thanked President Uhuru Kenyatta for the opportunity to serve Kenyans under his leadership over the last nine (9) years.

“I have this evening tendered my resignation as Cabinet Secretary, to H.E the President to pursue other roles in the Development of our nation as a candidate for Mandera Governor in the upcoming general elections.

“I take this opportunity to thank HE. The President for the confidence he bestowed on me over the last nine years in his administration across the Ministries of Industry and Trade, Agriculture and finally at East African Community and Regional Development.”

Mohamed also thanked his colleagues in Cabinet and the staff across the various Ministries he served. He wished them well as they continue to serve the nation.

“I thank my Cabinet Colleagues, staff in the Ministries I served in, the Private Sector and Development Partners for support in delivering the many milestones we have achieved over the period,” he added.

He further urged Mandera residents to vote for him in the forthcoming general election.

“To the Great People of Mandera County, change is coming and in a big way. I Look forward to serving you as your next Governor. Inshallah.”

Mohamed becomes the third CS to resign from after Devolution CS Charles Keter and Petroleum CS John Munyes who will be contesting the Kericho and Turkana gubernatorial seats respectively.
