President Uhuru Kenyatta has dismissed media reports that he has stepped back from Azimio la Umoja campaigns for fear of being heckled by Kenyans, chiefly in his Mt Kenya bedroom.

The Head of State on Thursday, April 14, attended the Holy Oil Celebrations at AIPCA church in Gakarara village, Kandara constituency in Murang’a County.

This was a special occasion as two fighting factions, one led by Archbishop Frederick Wang’ombe and another by Archbishop Julius Njoroge, buried the hatchet and promised to work together moving forward.

The President was spreading the successful negotiations.

Basking in the glory of the triumphant mission, the Kenyan leader said bringing Wang’ombe and Njoroge together cemented his ability to show the country direction ahead of the forthcoming General Election.

He exuded confidence that Kenyans will listen to his to his advise and elect a peace-loving and development conscious leader. The President endorsed Azimio presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga in February.

“I have heard them claim that I developed cold feet and I’m fearing some people. When the time is ripe, you will see me on the ground and no one will intimidate me. I’m a Kenyan and very confident that I will show our people the right path,” he said.

His visit in Kandara came amid fears that area MP Alice Wahome had hired goons to heckle the First in Command.

Security had been heightened in the constituency throughout the day.

Wahome protested that his area had been turned into a police zone.

“Kandara temporarily been turned into a Police state due to H.E Uhuru Kenyatta visit for The Celebration of Holy Oil at AIPCA Gakarara today. All kiosks demolished to pave way for visitors. Hustlers locked out from venue. Entry by invitation .I m a Hustler,” she wrote on her social media pages.

Recently, an impeccable State House source intimated to the People Daily that the President may not engage in aggressive campaigns for Raila to prevent a situation where he is humiliated through booing.

The source revealed that this was informed by intelligence advise that Deputy President William Ruto’s allies would plant crowds to heckle him in his Mt Kenya forays.
