Atwoli Rebukes His Wife After She Officially Joins DP Ruto’s Camp

Deputy President William Ruto has netted the second wife of Cotu Secretary-General Francis Atwoli in his camp.

Addressing his supporters during a rally in Bungoma County on Friday, Dr. Ruto said Rosalinda Simiyu has joined the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

He introduced her as the spouse to the man who likes wearing expensive jewellery (in reference to Atwoli).

In her short speech, Simuyu confirmed that she is backing Ruto for the top seat.

My name is Rosalinda Simiyu and. My husband is known as Francis Atwoli. I’m a supporter of the Hustler Movement,” she said.

This is despite the fact that her husband is a close ally of ODM leader Raila Odinga, the perceived main competitor of the DP in this year’s State House contest.

Reacting to the news that his wife has joined the ‘Hustler Nation’, the veteran trade unionist said he doesn’t care.

Atwoli claimed she divorced her a long time ago and she should stop dragging his name while appearing in Ruto’s political meetings.

“Rosalinda was surrendered to William Ruto in 2007. She is no longer on the list of my relatives. Ruto can now add her, free of charge, to his two recently acquired bearded wives for him to have three wives from Western Kenya. Western Kenya is Azimio,” he said in a tweet.

The “bearded wives” the workers’ activist is referring to are ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and his Ford-Kenya counterpart Moses Wetangula.

On Sunday, January 23, Mudavadi and Wetangula announced that they would work the Ruto in the run-up to the 2017 General Election. The DP is banking on the two to multiply his support in Luhya land.

However, Atwoli maintains Raila is still the man to beat in Mulembe Nation.
