Azimio Unveils Nairobi Line-up For Governor, Senator And Woman Rep

Azimio la Umoja One-Kenya Alliance presidential candidate Raila Odinga has unveiled a line-up for Nairobi County elective seats.

Addressing the media in Nairobi on Friday, 22nd April, Odinga stated that Polycarp Igathe of Jubilee Party will be the Nairobi gubernatorial flag bearer.

Igathe will now be deputised by former Kibwezi MP Professor Philip Kaloki of the Wiper Party.

ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna will be the Senate candidate for Azimio while Esther Passaris will be the candidate for the Woman Representative in Nairobi County.

“The Nairobi governor candidate is going to be Mr. Polycarp Igathe. He will be deputised by professor Kaloki. The senator candidate will be Edwin Sifuna,” the former Prime Minister announced.

Tim Wanyonyi, who had expressed interest in Nairobi Governor bid will now seek to defend his Westlands MP seat on the ODM ticket.

“Tim has agreed to shelve his Nairobi gubernatorial bid and will defend his Westlands National Assembly seat.”

Nairobi businessman Richard Ngatia will be deployed as a special envoy on trade with immediate effect.
