‘Best Day of My Life’: Rigathi Gachagua Can’t Believe He is Ruto’s Running Mate

Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua could not hide his joy after he was named the running mate for Deputy President William Ruto.

Gachagua, ecstatic, called the decision “one of the happiest days of my life,” vowing to ensure Kenya Kwanza forms the next government.

“I am humbled by the trust and responsibility put upon me as your running mate in Kenya’s most pivotal election. This is one of the most memorable days of my life,” he exclaimed.

Despite his selection, Gachagua took note of the other candidates considered for the role, whom he acknowledged as qualified.

Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, Kandara MP Alice Wahome, National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi, Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, and Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki were among those shortlisted for the Kenya Kwanza running mate position.

“I will not fail the hustler nation; I will not fail the Kenyan people. With more than 30 years of experience, I stand here from a grass thatched house. I’ve traveled and worked in every corner of Kenya and am familiar with the issues that our lovely people confront,” Gachagua added.

“I am certain that a determined government working with all of Kenya’s inhabitants would be able to conquer and overcome the challenges that are holding the country back. Many Kenyans get up early and go to bed late, but they rarely get the benefits of their labor or sweat. He continued, The instruments to close that gap are inadequate.”

Gachagua also promised to free the workplace and businesses, which he claims are tainted by harassment, asset seizures, and exorbitant taxes. He also hopes to provide farmers with guaranteed minimum returns.
