Big names eye Vihiga county public service board slots – Weekly Citizen

Big names are eyeing Vihiga county public service board jobs with politicians who lost in the 2017 political contest dominating the list of those shorlisted for the interview.

Vihiga residents are keenly watching how Governor Wilbur Ottichilo will treat the politicians who are desperately seeking for the county public service board jobs.

Adept Systems management consultants who were hired by Vihiga county to recruit the new Vihiga county service board has already shortlisted the candidates for the interviews.

The consultancy agency is supposed to shortlist three successful candidates for the post of county public service board chairperson and 15 candidates for the post of members where Ottichilo will pick one person as chairpsern and five people as board members.

Amayi

Those justling for the position of board chairpeson are Catherine Edalia, Joesph Ajanga Yidah, Jairus Amayi, Frankline Esipira, Edward Luvusi, Seth Masaya and Prez Nengo.

According to sources, Ottichilo is likely to pick Amayi who is his political adviser on economic issues. But Amayi’s undoing is that he is a Bunyore like Otichillo.

Amayi and Esipira are all close to Ottichilo and are said to be more conversant with the operations of public service boards.

Big names featured in those eyeing for the position of board members are 23 candidates were shortlisted.

Others focused on the seats are former Vihiga MP Yusuf Chanzu, Asienwa Biggood, Rhoda Mbandu, Julius Sikalo, Lornah Obiri, Dorcus Kedogo, Newton Okwiya, Wilberforce Kitiezo, Luke Andeka, Wilson Karani Khaniri and Abisa Nancy. Many are of the opinion, since Ottichilo is from Bunyore. He is supposedly to appoint an outsider for the slot to consolidate his powerbase and also avoid backlash in his native hometurf.

Chanzu

Chanzu who vied for Vihiga county governor’s seat is hopeful of being among the best 15 which Ottichilo will pick five board members. Bigood who served in the public service board during Akaranga’s regime has thin chances of survival. Bigood quit the public service board to vie for Emuhaya parliamentary seat where he was floored by Omboko Milemba. Luke Andeka represents youths and he has high chances of being picked.

Mbandu and Obiri both contested for Vihiga county women representative but lost to Adagala. Kedogo and Kitiezo vied for Vihiga constituency seat but lost to Ernest Ogesi.

Others seeking for board membership position are Mark Siro, Ashton Omulama, Vincent Sakwa, Josiah Aketch, Joseph Kiminywi, Timothy Otenyo, John Fredrick, Sarah Olembo, Kadurenge Muronga, Ismael Kutwa, Albert Etechere and Nicholas Mwandihi.
