Kilifi county government is once again on the spotlight for loss of billions of shillings of taxpayers money allegedly looted and diverted to individuals’ personal projects.
The Auditor General says over Sh3.2 billion cannot be accounted for during the financial year ending 30th June, 2018.

Local residents have demanded for immediate action by the EACC and DCI against the thieving clique at the county, saying over the years public funds have been stolen and the culprits left to enjoy the loot in peace.
Some of the looted Kilifi county billions have reportedly been used to acquire properties and assets locally and abroad.
The Amason Kingi administration has in successive financial years failed to account for billions of shillings received from the government for development purposes.
In the financial year 2016/17, the Auditor General accused the county top leadership of hiding crucial information required for audit verification. The AG said expenditure of more than Sh1billion of public money allocated to the devolved unit during that period could not be accounted for.
