Political activist Boniface Mwangi has accused the state of killing Somali-American businessman Bashir Mohamud Mahmoud who had been doing business with the government.
Mohamud was kidnapped on May 13 just moments after leaving Miale 72 Lounge and later found lying dead in a morgue in Muranga.
Mwangi accused the government of facilitating the businessman’s death as he was kidnapped in Nairobi which is under state’s CCTV surveillance.
He added that since his disappearance the government made no attempts to look into the matter.
“Mohamud Bashir Mohammed was kidnapped in Nairobi which has government CCTV, murdered and dumped in Kirinyaga. His car was burnt and the shell disappeared. It’s only the government who can pull off such an operation. He was killed by the state, the biggest question is why?” Wrote Mwangi.
The activist added that the calculation revolving around Bashir’s murder can only be done by the state, noting that for the killers to transport the body all the way to Kirinyaga where it was dumped had to involve the police.
“Have you ever tried moving cargo, household goods, building materials or even animals, dead or alive? That’s when you learn police roadblocks are everywhere. For a body or a kidnapped person to be transported that far, it has to be police work. They also wanted the body to be found,” he added.
