The ministry of Health will soon begin implementing a jigger eradication policy in the counties in a bid to curb the menace. During a public sensitization exercise in Busia County it was revealed that 6,000 people in Busia County are infested with jiggers majority being children and the elderly. Poverty and poor hygiene have ben cited as some of the factors that have contributed to the infestation.
