Busia prison warden found raping COVID-19 patient at isolation centre

A Busia based police officer has been disarmed after he was found sleeping with a COVID-19 patient.

The man in uniform was among six officers stationed to guard the Agricultural Training Centre, an isolation facility set aside by the Ministry of Health for coronavirus patients.

The sad incident happened on Friday, July 17, at 12.30am according to a police report seen by TUKO.co.ke.

The report said the place is usually guarded by three police officers and three wardens officers, both remandees from Busia Prison and ordinary sick members of the public are kept in separate wards.

At about 2200hrs as is routine it was reported one police constable Emmanuel Ng’etich and his colleague Jeff Obondo, both wardens from Busia Prison were on a normal patrol within the facility.

It was then that Ng’etich started engaging one patient identified as Fanice Chepkemoi when hell broke loose.

“The other officer felt uncomfortable and proceeded to the guard room. He informed his colleagues what was happening. All the officers went to check on what was taking place, they did not find the duo and became suspicious,”

“They started looking around and at the above stated time, they heard noise and commotion coming from the women wards direction.They rushed there and found all the patients outside and complaining that the prison officer was raping the said lady patient,” the report read in part.
