– Benteke and Wilfried Zaha scored Palace’s consolation goals
Chelsea are on course to securing a top four finish following their 3-2 win over Crystal Palace during a Premier League clash played on Tuesday, July 7, at Selhurst Stadium.
Chelsea went into the match without the services of three key players including N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic and Fikayo Timori.
However, the side was still able to withstand Palace’s onslaught to secure a crucial win away from home.
The visitors bagged two quick goals at Selhurst Park, taking the lead through Olivier Giroud who slotted home from a Willian cross before Christian Pulisic doubling the advantage with a powerful left-footed shot.
Wilfried Zaha went on to pull one back for the Eagles with a stunning strike into the second half as they dominated proceedings in pursuit for an equaliser.
They instead suffered a blow in the 71st minute after Tammy Abraham combined with Loftus-Cheek to make it 3-1 before Christian Benteke immediately scored for the home side.
