Citizen TV’s Lulu Hassan Wins Prestigious Award in Tanzania

Citizen TV journalist Lulu Hassan has won the Tuzo La Mwanamke Shoka 2022 Award in Tanzania.

The good news was confirmed by her husband Rashid Abdalla who took to his social media to congratulate her.

“Hongera sana @loulou_hassan kwa tuzo hii ya heshima. Uwepo wako na mchango wako katika tasnia ya filamu umehisiwa Afrika Mashariki. Endelea kugusa nafsi za wengi,” he wrote on Instagram.

Lulu who couldn’t hide her joy thanked God for guidance and her fans for their continuous support.

“Taking this opportunity to thank God for the far He has brought me, but most of all, I want to say I couldn’t do this without all of you. Thank you for supporting me,” she stated.

Mwanamke wa Shoka is an annual event organised by Tanzanian media house EFM and TVE. The award recognises the exemplary role played by women in different industries.

Lulu was fated for her huge contribution in the East Africa film industry. Through her production company dubbed Jiffy Pictures. She co-owns the company with her hubby Rashid Abdalla

Over the years they have produced programs like; Maria, Sultana, Zora, Kovu, Huba, Kaidi, Mizani, Moyo, Aziza, and Maza.
