Three people among them employees of a cleaning services company contracted by the Judiciary and a driver have been charged with stealing a TV set worth Sh50,000 from Milimani law courts.

Andrew Osando Orina and David Elikana Nyabuto, who work for Jepco Cleaning Company, a company contracted by Judiciary for cleaning services, admitted stealing the TV set on unknown dates.

Their accomplice, Eric Manyange Ondieki who has been employed by Judicial Service Commission as a driver, denied the charge and was ordered to pay cash bail of Sh50,000 to secure his release.

The three appeared before Milimani Chief Magistrate Wendy Kagendo and faced charges of conspiring to steal a Television set- make TCL, the property of the Judiciary.

The three are alleged to have committed the offence on unknown dates and places within Kenya, jointly with others not before court.

The court had that on February 3, 2022 at Mukuru kwa Njenga in Nairobi, other than in the course of stealing, dishonestly undertook the disposal of the said TV, knowing or having reasons to believe it to be stolen goods.

Nyabuto and Orina will be presented before the City Court on February 8 for reading of facts before sentencing.

They were captured on CCTV stealing the said TV and upon arrest, the cleaners led the DCI officers to Mukuru kwa Njenga where they had hidden the TV in a shop.
