Famed comedian Professor Hamo has revealed the disease that his fellow gagster Mannerson Oduor Ochieng, alias Akuku Danger is battling after his admission to Nairobi Women’s Hospital.

According to Hamo, Akuku was diagnosed with sickle cell anemia after his birth, and he has been fighting for his life for years as the hereditary condition has no cure.

“My brother, friend, and colleague, Akuku Danger, the Comedian, was born with sickle cell anemia. Many are the days he stood on the Churchill show stage to make Kenya laugh while he needed the joy.” He wrote.

Further, Hamo pleaded with fans to support Akuku in offsetting his mammoth hospital bill after he was admitted to ICU following a lung failure.

“He is a fighter, and I believe that God will heal him. Please contribute to help in offsetting the hospital bills, which keep rising by the day. He gave us laughter, let’s give him our support.”

This comes after Daniel Ndambuki, famously known as Churchill, asked those who were in attendance of the New year’s Eve show at Garden City Mall on Friday, December 31, to stand with the comedian as he undergoes a challenging moment of his life.

A few minutes after the emergency fundraiser was called, the attendees had proved their solidarity with Akuku as they raised Ksh400,000.

Churchill was lauded by his peers, including his radio co-host Maina Kageni who described him as “a man who’s got a heart of gold.”

Comedian Sandra Dacha also commended Churchill for his kind act after assisting Akuku Danger.

“But this man Churchill. He managed to raise 400K yesterday for Akuku Danger in a span of three minutes. What more can I say! Thank you, ” she posted.
