Last Sunday, Muturi and Mwaniki led the Kieleweke squad in Kangema constituency where they took a swipe at Ruto, stating that premature campaigns for 2022 elections are a hindrance to attainment of the government’s development agenda.
They said putting the country into elections mood is like disrespecting the president who is rooting for implementation of his Big Four

Agenda that is proving to be a pie in the sky.
The MPs castigated their colleagues from Jubilee who are busy campaigning for 2022.
Others present included Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu.
The lawmakers said leaders should first focus on delivering development promises they made to their constituents before their election in 2017.

Wambugu said leaders engaging in early campaigns are creating divisions thus making it difficult to attain development programmes as each project is viewed from a political angle.
“It’s foolish for leaders in power to engage in premature campaigns promising to work for the people after 2022 and yet they are currently in power and still politicking,” said Wambugu.
He accused some leaders from Mount Kenya of disrespecting Uhuru who has asked all leaders to shun premature campaigns.
“The president directed all leaders to desist from early campaigns but seeing some of us busy engaging in premature 2022 elections is like an insult. The president needs ample time to implement his four-pillar development agenda,” said the Nyeri Town MP at Kanyenyaini Catholic Church in Kangema.
He lauded the handshake between Uhuru and Raila Odinga, saying the coming together of the two has created conducive environment for implementation of the development programme.
