Demand for herbal tea is growing in Kenya

Herbs are a key ingredient in production of specialty tea. However, local production is said to be too low to meet demand. This has seen tea processors relying on imports from the COMESA region as well as Nigeria. In addition, locally grown herbs are said to be of poor quality that ultimately affect the final product.
