Details of DP Ruto’s new strategy to exit Jubilee after failing to Register Jubilee Asili Centre

Deputy President William Ruto and his allies have crafted a new strategy after failing to register the Jubilee Asili political outfit and with President Uhuru Kenyatta going after his last man standing Jubilee Party Deputy Secretary-General, Caleb Kositany.

In a radical proposal backed by the Miscellaneous Amendment Bill 2020 which seeks to reduce public funding of political parties, DP Ruto allies now want all political parties dissolved and individuals allowed to run on independent tickets.

In an interview with Daily Nation, Jubilee Deputy
Secretary-General and Soy MP Caleb Kositany who is a key DP Ruto
ally stated that political parties have eroded democracy in Kenya and have
turned into properties of individuals which are not serving the interest of
Kenyans.

“Political
parties have eroded our democracy and should be abolished and we allow Kenyans
to vote for individuals. We want details of the bank statements,” stated
the Kositany.

He also stated that Jubilee as a party needs to be
disbanded for failing to publish its audited accounts despite receiving billions
from the government and member’s contributions.

“Any payments that have been made to who and for what should be tabled so that Kenyans can make an informed decision on how their funds are utilized,” he added.

The
development come at a time when plans are underway by the pro-Uhuru team to seize
control of Jubilee by kicking out Tangatanga MPs who have been accused of
sabotaging the party.

Against
the President’s orders, the DP Ruto sympathizers have openly campaigned for his
2022 candidature and allegedly sabotaged the president’s development agenda,
leading to the recent purge that saw a number of them kicked out.

Vice-Chairman David Murathe did not mince his words in issuing an ultimatum to the rebel MPs who had threatened to stop their monthly contributions which are meant for running activities at the Jubilee’s headquarters, warning them against such a move.

“If they want to move to
something else they are good to go. Good riddance. These are people who had
promised to work from the Jubilee headquarters but now claim they have been
denied,” Murathe slammed.
