Alex Nderi, known by his nom de theatre, DJ Lithium, will be laid to rest on Friday.
His family has revealed that the 33-year old spinmaster, who reportedly committed suicide by poisoning himself while at Capital FM offices where he worked, will be buried in his Mugwambogo village in Embu County.
However, discussions on the planning of the funeral and transportation of the body from the city will be done at Kahawa Sukari every day before the set funeral date.
“He was a nephew, cousin, uncle, and a friend to many. Those we love live in our hearts forever,” the family mourned him.
According to Nadia Favre, who worked with DJ Lithium for eight years at Capital FM, the DJ was a gifted man with overlord skills in deejaying and also loved his job.
“Alex was a kind, gentle and creative man. A patient producer and spectacular DJ. I will miss seeing his face every morning. Rest in peace, DJ Lithium.”
DJ Lithium will be remembered through his EDM and Afro House music mixes available on several streaming sites.
Before he met his death, the DJ deleted all his social media accounts and texted close family friends telling them that he is gone forever.
He said that he drew his name from his love for Chemistry. Lithium is a chemical element with the symbol Li and atomic number 3. It is a soft, silvery-white alkali metal and the least dense metal known.
From Litkenya, DJ Lithium brought so much joy through his music mixes. He will be missed by many. Rest in Peace.
