Deputy President William Ruto has reiterated his commitment to a free, fair and credible election on 9th of August.
DP Ruto has also urged his competitors to commit to the same, and urged institutions tasked with handling the election to give their best.
DP Ruto spoke when he met the United Nation’s Country team led by Her Excellency Zainab Hawa the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Nairobi.
Hawa reiterated the importance of the international community standing with Kenya to ensure free, fair, transparent and verifiable elections.
Present during the meeting were Chris Kirkcaldy (Director, Division of Administrative Services), Peter Marshall (Principal Security Adviser, Department of Safety and Security), Nancee Oku Bright (Chief of Staff, Office of the Director-General), Tuntu Mazibuko (Special Assistant to Director, Division of Administrative Services) and Joshua Bird (Political Affairs Officer, Office of the Director-General).
Others were Stephen Jackson (UN Resident Coordinator), Maniza Zaman (UNICEF Representative Kenya), Carla Mucavi (FAO Director) and Rana Taha (Peace and Development Advisor, Resident Coordinator’s Office).
