President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga lost two more foot soldiers, thanks to a hemorrhage induced by Deputy President William Ruto.
The second in command welcomed two governors to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and by extension the Kenya Kwanza Alliance.
Embu Governor Martin Wambora, who is the chair of the Council of Governors (CoG), and his Samburu counterpart Moses Lenolkulal declared that they will back the DP for the top seat.
The duo has been supporting the Azimio la Umoja coalition, which was jointly formed by the Head of State and the former Prime Minister.
They were among 30 governors who had declared support for Raila in January this year during a meeting held in Naivasha.
Wambora and Lenolkulal are second-term governors, meaning they have exhausted the limit set by the constitution.
However, they still have political ambitions.
The CoG chair is running for the Embu senatorial position while the Samburu county boss is still consulting before making the next move.
These being the last days when politicians are allowed to hop from one party to the other, expect more transfers in the next three weeks.
