Companies in Dubai have started excluding Nigerian applicants from vacancies after Ramon Olorunwa Abass popularly known as Hushpuppi was arrested in the United Arab Emirates.

Hushpuppi and other Nigerians were arrested for fraud in Dubai and extradited to the United States.

TUKO.co.ke sighted some jobs advertised online and open to candidates of every nationality except Nigerians.

Apart from blacklisting Nigerians from applying for jobs in Dubai, the latter is also denying Nigerians tourist visa.

In a letter sighted online, the UAE made it known that Nigerian passport holders are not permitted to obtain a tourist visa to the country in the meantime.

“Dear Applicant, Thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately, your visa application has been rejected as Nigerian passport holders are not permitted to obtain a tourist visa to the UAE in the meantime,” However, this may change at any time as the permitted nationalities are updated frequently,” read the letter.

In other news, the flamboyant Nigerian man popularly known as Ray Hushpuppi was arrested a few weeks ago by the Dubai Police.

Hushpuppi is currently being held at the Metropolitan Correctional Centre (MCC) in Chicago.
