DUO DENY OBTAINING SH. 1.6 MILLION IN PRETEXT OF SECURING KDF JOB.

A former State House operative and a businesswoman have been charged with conspiracy to defraud Sh1.6 million from a businessman claiming they were in a position to recruit his son to the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF).

Dorcas Jepkemboi Kiptirim alias Mercy, who is a former State House supplier and Jacob Kiruru Ngoletum appeared before Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Zainab Abdul and denied the charges.

The prosecution told the court that the duo falsely pretended that they were in position to help Eliud Khaemba Namufeli’s his son and four others join KDF during its 2021 recruitment exercise.

They allegedly committed the offence on the diverse dates between January 22 and May 1 this year in Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) jointly with others not before court.
They were also charged with obtaining Sh1.6 million from Khaemba.

The court ordered them to deposit bond of 1 million or alternative cash bail of Sh700,000 each, to secure their freedom.
