Education Cabinet Secretary Prof. George Magoha has affirmed the government’s commitment to provide an enabling environment for vulnerable populations as the roll out of the Competency Based Curriculum takes root.
Speaking during a per-conference on expanding inclusion of special needs education, Prof. Magoha said the government has already embarked on training more special needs teachers as well as providing materials for special needs learners.
As education stakeholders continue to take stock of the progress of the competency based curriculum, concerns over efforts to achieve inclusive education remains rife.
Kenya institute of Special Education chairperson Dr. John Mugo now proposing that all teachers should receive training on inclusive education.
