Ex-Arsenal Star Jack Wilshere Joins Danish Club AGF

Former Arsenal and England midfielder Jack Wilshere has joined Danish Superliga side Aarhus Gymnastikforening (AGF) after eight months without a club.

The 30-year-old Aarhus Gymnastikforening on a deal until the end of the season with an option to extend the contract.

The midfielder has been training with the Gunners for months now, having been released by Bournemouth.

“Since I started training with Arsenal, I have never hidden that it was to be ready for 2022 and for a new club. It has now succeeded and it will be an exciting new challenge for me. I am at a point in my career where I need to get started again after a difficult period, and that opportunity AGF has offered me. I am very grateful for that and I will do everything I can to help the team move forward,” Wilshere was quoted as saying by the club’s official website.

“I have been looking for an air change and a fresh start in a new framework, and I am very much looking forward to contributing to the team.”

Wilshere will wear the number 10 shirt at the club which is currently seventh in the Danish top division.

Wilshere made 197 appearances for Arsenal and won 34 caps for England. Since leaving Arsenal in 2018 he has only 36 matches.
