We talk about things like healthy communication, loyalty, trust, and honesty which are all good and vital for a successful relationship, but so is sex and physical attraction.

When it comes to sex, we know that it’s an important element of intimacy. It’s the chemistry you have that allows you to bond on a physical level.

Since sex is a sign of love and adoration for your spouse, it should be something sacred. That means certain things should be avoided as a way of showing that you care about your partner.

Some of those things can be bedroom fun killers which isn’t what you want.

If you’re wondering what some of them are, here are a few that you should steer clear of:

Having fun and cracking jokes with your partner is something normal and healthy. You’re basically good friends so you should enjoy each other’s company and be yourselves when you’re together.

But while you have fun, there are a few jokes that should be off limits when it comes to the bedroom.

You shouldn’t start pointing out your partner’s flaws or make degrading comments about their body because that could hurt their self-esteem for a long time.

  • Insisting on doing something they’re uncomfortable with

A healthy sex life doesn’t mean that you should have the same boring routine for years. There are times when things can get a bit flat and if you don’t communicate what you would like to try, you will be in the same stale place for a long time.

Even as you encourage open communication with your bae, there are those things you both know you aren’t comfortable with. Don’t force them to abandon the boundaries if they’ve made it clear that they don’t like something.

If you keep insisting, this can be taken as a sign of disrespect and that may damage your relationship.

To have good sex, there needs to be effort coming from both sides. It’s not okay when one person is only focused on what they want without giving their partner the attention they need.

Pay attention to stages like foreplay and make an effort to ensure your partner is fulfilled.

One person shouldn’t have to carry all the pressure to satisfy the other either so think of sex as a beautiful collaboration and not a self-seeking mission.

  • Comparing your partner to an ex

This is a huge bedroom disaster that you need to avoid like the plague.

Even if you’re comfortable discussing almost anything with each other, never compare them to an ex during intimacy or any other time.

This might be the beginning of the end for your relationship so don’t do it.

  • Doing something gross intentionally

There are those things that can gross you out and turn you off when you were having a good time.

Embarrassing things happen often but don’t do something intentionally that would disgust your partner. If you’re both comfortable with loud farting, burping, nose picking or other bedroom faux pas’s, that is fine.

But if you’re not sure, don’t assume.
