Good news for Sirisia Member of Parliament John Waluke after a 33-year-old tycoon Moses Nandalwe who vied for Sirisia Parliamentary seat in Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket in the previous election offered to bail the lawmaker from prison.

Sirisia lawmaker was ordered to pay a fine of Ksh 727 million or serve 67 years jail term after being charged with defrauding National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) Ksh300 in maize scandal.

The tycoon who aspires to contest against the Sirisia Parliamentary seat incumbent in 2022 General polls stated that people have asked him several times to put politics aside and help the lawmaker.

“I have been asked repeatedly after Waluke’s conviction to put politics aside and help him. It should be known to all that I do not condone corruption. My desire is to help everyone and through my Nandalwe Foundation, I aid everyone who needs help, including Waluke,” Nandwale stated.

Nandalwe also revealed that the MP’s wife had also approached him to support them bail Waluke out refuting claims that he influenced Waluke’s sentencing to strengthen his political bid ahead of 2022 polls.

The Sirisia lawmaker risks losing his property if he fails to pay the fine or win an appeal as the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) affirmed that it is ready to auction Waluke’s property to raise the handsome amount of money.
