Football Kenya Federation Premier League side Gor Mahia has sacked head coach Mark Harrison following a series of poor results.
The Englishman who has been in charge for just five months was shown the door alongside his assistant coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo and goalkeeper trainer Jerim Onyango.
Former Nairobi City Stars, Muhoroni Youth, Tusker FC, Bandari FC and Kakamega Homeboyz head coach Paul Nkata will take charge on an interim basis.
“As a club, we have made a decision to part ways with coach Mark Harrison, Assistant coach Sammy Omollo and goalkeeper trainer Jerim Onyango; Paul Nkata will take charge on an interim basis. We thank the three for services offered to the club,” the club announced in a statement on Saturday, 29th January.
The development comes days after an embarrassing 3-0 defeat to sixth placed side Posta Rangers.
Gor Mahia are currently positioned fifth on the league table with 27 points from 16 matches. They have only won seven matches, registered six draws and three losses.
Harrison joined K’Ogalo in August last year replacing Portuguese tactician Vaz Pinto who resigned and left for Portugal.
Meanwhile, Pamzo joined the team at the start of last season while Onyango joined the team in March 2021 following the exit of Willis Ochieng.
