Excitement rang around Chelsea on Saturday, July 11 after new signing Hakim Ziyech finally arrived in London weeks after his transfer to the Blues was confirmed.

Chelsea, through the club’s official Twitter handle, shared a photo of an excited-looking Ziyech in the Blues training gear along with the caption, “Welcome to Chelsea, Hakim!”

The Morroco international took up light training duties at the club’s Cobham training ground and had a brief interaction with Chelsea’s technical and performance advisor Petr Cech.

Ziyech officially becomes manager Frank Lampard’s first signing as Chelsea boss and the former Ajax man was bought for around €40 million.

Born 26 years ago in Netherlands, the left-footed attacker can comfortably play in the right flank or on the left.

He started his senior career with Eredivisie outfit Heerenveen where he grew through the ranks from the academy.

Last season, he scored 16 league goals in Eredivisie and set up 13 others in just 29 appearances.
