NAIROBI, Kenya, May 25 – Heri Homes and Finsco Africa have partnered to kick off the construction of a new multimillion housing project under their KSh 20 billion mixed-use development project dubbed Legacy Ridges.

Legacy Ridges Chairman Kimani Kimotho, who also serves as the CEO of Heri Homes, said they have already started construction of the 384 apartment units after successfully launching their maisonette project on the same property in February this year.

The new multimillion shillings project sits on a 100-acre property in Ruiru Town, opposite Nova Pioneer Girls, off the Thika Super Highway and primarily targets low and middle-income earners.

According to the company, the apartment units comprise two-bedroom units, which will cost KSh 3.5 million, and three-bedroom units will cost KSh 4.3 million.

Kimotho said they have opted selling the houses off plan since it gives customers an opportunity to re-design their houses to suit their benefits apart from also giving them some financial options in terms of payments.

“This new project is in line with our promise of providing Kenyans with affordable houses. These houses are strategically located, making them ideal for Kenyans intending to commute to the city daily,” Kimotho said.

So far, 90 units have been sold, with the company hoping to offload the remaining units in the next few months.

Legacy Ridges said they intend to complete the project in the next two years.

Overall, Legacy Ridges will add an extra 4,000 homes to the economy by the time the entire project is completed.

The project, which is being carried out in phases, will comprise 2,800 units that will include two and three-bedroom apartments, while the rest will be maisonettes, including servant quarters.

Finsco Africa CEO John Mwaura said the three-bedroom maisonettes and bungalows would include a lounge, dining area and a kitchen. They would also have inbuilt wardrobes, a yard, a three-bedroom master ensuite and car parking. The four-bedroom maisonettes include the same features, plus an additional bedroom.

Mwaura, who also doubles as the Legacy Ridges CEO, said the three-bedroom maisonettes are retailing at KSh 8.5 million while the introductory fee of the four-bedroom is KSh 9.7 million.

Accordingly, “In complementing the government’s efforts of affordable housing agenda, we are focused on real estate solutions that are in line with the customer satisfaction that will deliver practical solutions like having stable families and community, that starts with every homestead owning a home ”, explains Mwaura.
