Hilarious: Babu Owino Featured in New Banger Titled ‘Kanini Kega’

If there is anything Hamisa and Vera have taught us in recent times, it is that everybody can sing, albeit with a lot of help from autotune. Another popular Kenyan public figure out to make a killing in the music industry is firebrand politician Babu Owino.

The Embakasi East MP has been featured in a new track by Kisumu artist based in Nairobi, Nebulazz. The track is titled Dis Gal (Kanini Kega) and talks about the attractive qualities that girls should have.

‘Kanini Kega’ is Kikuyu for small and nice and it is also the name of the Kieni Member of Parliament.

While Nebulazz clearly intended to bait listeners with the ‘Babu Owino’ feature, the former student leader doesn’t do any singing. The song only features a few sound bites by the MP in which he uses fancy English words.

According to Babu, the song is intended to show the fun side of him and to promote the up and coming artiste Nebulazz. He also clarified that the song wasn’t referring to his parliamentary counterpart whose birth name is Simon Mathenge.
