Homeboys picks an away point as Leopards reign supreme at Nyayo stadium

Football Kenya Federation Premier League title contenders Kakamega Homeboys came from behind to force a 1-1 draw against record top tier champions Gor Mahia FC at Moi International Sports Centre,Kasarani stadium.

Karamor came off the bench last weekend to score the winner as Homeboyz saw off KCB at Bukhungu to help Bernard Mwalala’s charges boost their chances of lifting their maiden title this season.

At Nyayo national stadium, Victor Omune scored a brace to help AFC Leopards pick three maximum points against league debutants FC Talanta in a five goal thriller.

Ken Kenyatta coached Talanta almost grabbed a point due to Ingwe’s complacency after scoring two second half goals in two minutes through Brian Yakhama’s spot kick and Kevintom Machika before Omune salvaged the situation with a curling finish a few minutes before full time.

Kenya Police FC beat fellow newcomers Bidco United 1-0 at Ruaraka grounds to enable them register the seventh win of the season.

The law enforcers have had a string of poor performances during the previous seven rounds of top flight matches.

Saturday’s result lifts Homeboys to the top of the table with 57 points,a point ahead of defending champions Tusker who host Nzoia Sugar on Sunday.
