former Kenya Rugby men’s captain and also IOC and NOC-K Athletes’ Commission member, who also sits in the NOC-K Executive as the Athletes Representative (Men, Humphrey Kayange) has added another prestigious feather on his cap following his appointment into the World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA’s) Executive as a member.

Humphrey decorated with the State OGW Presidential award and not halting any time soon, is also the CEO for Team to the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

The National Olympic Committee of Kenya pays great tribute to him as “a true example of how far our athletes can go if they empower themselves all-round”, says NOC-K President, Paul Tergat while celebrating his Executive Member attainment.

WADA’s Executive Committee (ExCo) and Foundation Board (Board) met in Cairo, Egypt, on Wednesday and Thursday (18 and 19 May 2022) for their first meetings of 2022.

Humphrey Kayange, who was in attendance as a Foundation member, was appointed as a representative of the IOC Athletes Commission, for a term of three-year term commencing on 1 June 2022.

WADA is composed of a 38-member Board, which is the Agency’s highest policy-making body, and a 14-member ExCo, to which the Board delegates the management and running of the Agency, including the performance of certain activities and the administration of assets.

In Humphrey’s appointment to WADA ExCo, it injects momentum into Kenya’s relentless campaign and fight for clean sports in the country over the years.

“NOC-K continues to work very closely and collaboratively with ADAK, Kenya’s local anti-doping body to not only test but educate our athletes and stakeholders about the importance of clean sporting. It is an objective that we see as an irreducible minimum”, notes Francis Mutuku, NOC-K Secretary General, as he also hailed Humphrey’s appointment to WADA,

Team Kenya to the upcoming Commonwealth Games are now in their second week in residential Camp, during which ADAK have held three clusters of education schedules since 1st June 2022.

The 1st Cluster saw 3 X 3 Basketball, Judo Wrestling, Boxing, Weightlifting go through the programme and day 2 saw the second cluster; Para-athletics, Wheelchair Basketball, Para powerlifting and Paracycling at Kasarani.

ADAK will this Friday, 3rd June 2022 move to Utalii Hotel for a session with Lawn Bowls, Squash and Table Tennis for sensitization and education campaigns.
