Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru says she will not be intimidated by the state to stop supporting Deputy President William Ruto for presidency.
Waiguru said she knows some state operatives are busy cooking charges against her to force her out of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
The Governor exudes confidence that she will be re-elected for a second term overwhelmingly saying the Jubilee administration is now using intimidation to instill fear on UDA aspirants.
“They have told us that they have our files ready but we are saying we are not going to be intimidated or threatened by arrests. I will not move even an inch from supporting Ruto,” she said.
Governor Waiguru said state operatives using taxpayer’s money to intimidate Mt Kenya region leaders supporting for DP Ruto ought to be wiser.
“We are solidly behind Ruto for president, they will not change the mind of the people who are supporting Ruto,” she said.
Waiguru reiterated her calls for President Uhuru Kenyatta to have a handshake with his deputy and stop supporting Raila Odinga for Presidency.
The governor said Uhuru will face a humiliating defeat in the August polls should he continue supporting Odinga.
She said Uhuru should abandon his “Raila project” and instead allow for a free and fair contest between Ruto and Odinga.
Waiguru has further urged Interior PS Karanja Kibicho to stop threatening her with arrests and instead asked to him to explain what he means when he says, “Waiguru will not be on the ballot.”
