Ian Mbugua stunned to learn people still remember his TPF days

Back when Tusker Project Fame was still a vibe, a lot of people grew to hate judge Ian Mbugua as they termed him as a draconian man who had no mercy.

Years after the show ended, Ian realised he had created a monster while trying to shape the region’s next great musicians.

At first, the music genius who was venting on Twitter had no idea why guys were hell-bent on discussing the show eons after it ended.

To him, people needed to let bygones be bygones because after everything is said and done, the past will always be the past.

Ian was somewhat proud his character was memorable and it stuck on the minds of viewers for seven straight years.

“I am fascinated that people still talk about Tusker Project Fame although it ended 7 years ago! Clearly, I created a memorable monster,” he joked.

But Kenyans did not share the joke and thought the instrumentalist was a tad bit annoying back when he ruled the screens.

They complained the judge ruined musicians’ self-esteem and destroyed any dignity contestants had left in them.

They could not understand how a dad and someone so sweet like him chose to tear individuals apart on live TV.

Ian was a shark back in the day and it took people years to believe that he is a gentle, godfearing man who cannot even hurt a fly.

Musicians would often bring their A-game to the stage but the moment Ian opened his mouth to pass his judgment, they would leave the room feeling less than talented.

He often criticised his contestant’s voice, entertainment skills, ability to capture the crowd and it always broke a piece of their hearts.

The judge would cross his hands, give an angry look, sometimes sigh then let out the most painful truth some of the musicians probably needed to hear.

And his legacy lived on!
