Ian Wright includes Luiz among 6 players who impressed against City

– But Ian Wright overlooked the Gabonese star in his shortlist of players who were impressive

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has singled out six Gunners players for praise after the side’s 2-0 FA Cup win over Man City on Saturday, July 18.

A sensational brace by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was in either half of the match was enough to send Arsenal to the finals of the competition.

However, the forward did not get a mention from Wright in his shortlist of players who were impressive.

Instead, the former Gunners star listed Ainsley Maitland-Niles, David Luiz, Emiliano Martinez, Kieran Tierney, Shkodran Mustafi and Hector Bellerin as the players who impressed most.

“Big up Ainsley Maitland-Niles,” Wright tweeted.

“David Luiz, as good a performance as we’ve seen from any Arsenal centre back. Big up Emi, Mustafi, Tierney, Hector. Yes boys, What a week for you boss Mikel Arteta,” he added.

Wright’s claim on Luiz’s huge performance came just days after he came under fire for below par performances.

Another Arsenal striker, Robin van Persie, was also impressed by the Brazilian defender’s display, picking him as the star of the show.
