ICPAK distributes foodstuffs to vulnerable families in Mandera

As the holy month of Ramadhan approaches the end, Institute of Certified Public Accountant (ICPAK) has distributed foodstuffs to over 30 households in Mandera.

Speaking while distributing food stuff, North Eastern ICPAK chairman Abdinoor Adan said the branch has taken the initiative to ensure the less privileged in the society celebrate during idd-ul-firt celebration next week.

Abdinoor Adan has added that ICPAK will be distributing foodstuffs to the vulnerable in the area each Ramadhan year.

Families received 25kgs of rice, a bale of white flour, three litres of cooking oil and detergent.

Frequent droughts and famine in the region pose a significant threat to livestock a main source of food and income for nearly all of the people who live in these areas this has left people living in the area the poorest and vulnerability in the country because their huge potential which is patriotism remains unexploited.

Some residents have started to practice agro-pastrolism with the support of government and non-governmental organization working in the area which they say has improved their lifestyle.

Other well-wishers have been asked to help the vulnerable in the society during this hard time brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic.
